If all your cached offline documents, meeting materials, and board books have been removed from the Govenda mobile app, this article explains what happened and how to restore access.
What is remote wipe?
Remote wipe is a security feature that allows your organization's administrator to remotely delete all Govenda offline data from your mobile device. It's designed to protect sensitive board materials if a device is lost, stolen, or when someone leaves the organization.
What causes offline data to be removed?
- Administrator-initiated remote wipe: Your administrator remotely wiped Govenda data from your device through the admin portal.
- Device security lock removed: You removed your device's PIN, passcode, fingerprint, or Face ID. The app automatically deletes all offline data when the device becomes unsecured.
- Account deactivated: Your administrator deactivated your account or removed you from the company.
- Signed out: You manually signed out of the app, which clears the offline cache.
What gets deleted?
- All cached offline documents and board materials
- The encrypted offline database containing meeting and agenda data
- Offline login security codes
What is NOT affected?
- Your Govenda account — it still exists on the server.
- The Govenda app — it remains installed on your device.
- All data on the Govenda server — nothing is deleted from the server, only the local cache on your device.
How to restore access
- Make sure your device has a security lock enabled (PIN, passcode, fingerprint, or Face ID).
- Connect to the internet and sign in to the Govenda app.
- Browse and open the meetings and documents you need — they'll be cached for offline access as you view them.
- If you use offline login security codes, generate a new set from Settings > Login Security Codes.
