Govenda allows you to annotate documents directly in the built-in PDF viewer. This article explains how to use annotations and troubleshoot common issues.
How to annotate
- Open a document in the Govenda PDF viewer.
- If annotations are enabled, you'll see markup tools in the toolbar.
- Available tools include: highlight, underline, strikeout, freetext, ink/drawing, sticky notes, shapes (rectangle, circle, line), stamps, signatures, and image insertion.
- Your annotations are saved automatically.
"Annotations for this file are disabled"
Your administrator has turned off annotation capabilities for this file or your account. You can use the comments feature within the meeting or agenda instead. If your organization uses Microsoft 365, you may be able to edit the file through the Office Online web editor. Contact your administrator if you need annotation access.
"An annotated version of this document already exists. Creating new annotations will delete your previous annotated document."
Your existing annotations will be permanently replaced if you proceed. Consider downloading the current annotated version as a backup first.
Shared annotations are read-only
Annotations created by another user appear as read-only — you cannot modify, move, or delete them. Only the person who created the annotations (or an administrator) can edit them.
