This article is for administrators who manage how notifications are delivered to users.
How the daily digest works
Govenda bundles all pending notifications for each user into a single daily digest email, delivered each morning. This keeps inboxes manageable while ensuring users stay informed about meetings, documents, approvals, and other activity.
What happens when the digest is disabled
When you turn off the auto-delivery digest, queued notifications are permanently deleted the next morning. They are not saved, queued for later, or delivered individually.
You'll see this warning when disabling: "These notifications will be deleted the morning of [date]."
This is the most common cause of users reporting "missing notifications." If users are complaining about not receiving notification emails, check whether the digest was recently disabled.
Who can change this setting?
Only administrators with Admin or Super roles can toggle the digest on or off. Users without those roles (including committee administrators) will see: "Contact your board administrator to change this setting."
How to enable or disable the digest
- Go to the Notifications management page in the admin portal.
- Toggle the auto-delivery setting.
- When enabled: "Notifications listed will be automatically delivered in one email digest the morning of [date]."
- When disabled: "Automatic notification delivery is disabled, these notifications will be deleted the morning of [date]."
