If you're seeing "Access Denied," "Authorization has been denied for this request," or features are missing from your navigation menu, this article explains the most common causes.
Your user role doesn't have permission
Govenda has three user roles with different levels of access:
- Standard — View meetings, documents, vote, complete surveys, RSVP, use messaging.
- Admin — Everything Standard can do, plus manage users, meetings, settings, committees, and dashboards.
- Super — Everything Admin can do, plus manage other Admin and Super users.
Many features — such as managing users, editing company settings, publishing meetings, or customizing dashboards — require Admin or Super access. Contact your administrator to check your role.
You're a committee admin, not a company admin
Committee administrators can manage meetings and content within their own committees, but may not have access to company-wide user management, global company settings, other committees' content, or some dashboard customization options. If you need broader access, contact your company administrator.
A feature isn't included in your organization's subscription
Some Govenda features require specific subscription plans. If a feature was recently removed from your plan or isn't included, it will disappear from the interface and requests to access it will return "Access Denied." Contact your administrator to check your subscription.
You don't have access to specific content
Individual meetings, documents, workrooms, and sections can have permission restrictions based on committee or group membership. You may be blocked from content that belongs to groups you're not a member of. Contact the meeting organizer or your administrator to request access.
Stale permissions
In rare cases, permission changes made by your administrator may not take effect immediately. Sign out of Govenda and sign back in to force a refresh of your permissions.
