If you're having trouble opening, viewing, or loading a document in Govenda, find the issue you're experiencing below.
"Password required"
The uploaded file is password-protected. You'll need to enter the document password to view it. If you don't know the password, contact the person who uploaded the document or your administrator.
"Wrong password"
The password you entered doesn't match. Double-check for typos and make sure you're using the correct capitalization.
Document is stuck loading or showing a spinning wheel
The document may be in a format that requires conversion to PDF (such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint). This conversion can take 1–2 minutes, especially for large files.
What to do:
- Refresh the page and try opening the document again.
- If it's been more than 5 minutes, the conversion may have failed. Contact your administrator to check whether the source file is valid.
Document appears blank
- Refresh the page.
- Try opening the document in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (the recommended browsers).
- Clear your browser cache and try again.
- The source file may be corrupt or in an unsupported format. Contact your administrator to verify.
"There was an error generating watermarks for this file"
The system wasn't able to apply security watermarks to this document.
- Refresh the page and try again.
- If the error continues, contact Govenda Support at support@govenda.com.
"The file you are looking for is not available offline" (mobile)
Documents must be opened at least once while connected to the internet before they're available for offline viewing. Connect to the internet, open the document, and it will be cached for offline access.
"Unable to open your document. Please contact support." (mobile)
The offline cached copy of this document may be corrupted. Connect to the internet, open the document online to refresh the cached version, then try accessing it offline again.
"Annotations for this file are disabled"
Your administrator has turned off annotation capabilities for this file or your account. You can use comments within the meeting or agenda instead. If your organization uses Microsoft 365 integration, you may be able to edit the file through the Office Online web editor. Contact your administrator if you believe annotations should be available.
"An annotated version of this document already exists"
If you proceed with creating new annotations, your previous annotated version will be replaced. Consider downloading your current annotated version before creating new ones.
