Govenda Firewall Access
Requirements
What Govenda sites should my IT team allow?
Your IT team should allow Govenda traffic over HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure), port 443, including secure WebSocket traffic.
Recommended:
*.govenda.com
If your organization cannot allow wildcard domains, allow:
app.govenda.com– Member portaladmin.govenda.com– Administrator portalapi.govenda.com– Sign-in and Govenda data servicespdf.govenda.com– Document viewing and annotations
Tip: We recommend allowing *.govenda.com because it also covers other Govenda sites used by some features.
Does my IT team need to exclude SSL/TLS inspection?
Yes, Govenda mobile apps need Govenda traffic excluded from SSL/TLS inspection, which is when a network security service decrypts and inspects secure web traffic.
Ask your IT team to exclude:
*.govenda.com
At minimum, exclude:
api.govenda.com
Without this exception, the Govenda iOS and Android apps may be unable to connect.
Optional Services
What sites are needed for Microsoft or Google features?
If you use these Govenda integrations, allow the related sites:
Connecting Microsoft 365 for Calendar or task sync
login.microsoftonline.com
Connecting Google Workspace for Calendar or task sync
accounts.google.comapis.google.comwww.googleapis.com
Editing Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files
*.officeapps.live.com*.cdn.office.net
For Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or another video meeting provider, follow that provider's network requirements.
What sites are needed for Govenda help content?
Govenda can still work without these sites, but guides, help content, videos, or fonts may be unavailable.

*.pendo.io*.storage.googleapis.com*.zendesk.com*.zdassets.comfast.wistia.comfast.wistia.netfonts.googleapis.comfonts.gstatic.com
What email addresses should be allowed?

Troubleshooting
How can I tell if Govenda is blocked?
To check whether your network is blocking Govenda:
- Open Govenda directly. Go to
https://app.govenda.com. A web-filter message or "can't reach this page" error may indicate a network block. - Try another network. Connect the same device to home Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot. If Govenda works there, your organization's network is likely blocking it.
- Compare Wi-Fi and cellular on mobile. If the Govenda app works over cellular data but not office Wi-Fi, SSL/TLS inspection is the most likely cause.
- Check browser developer tools. IT teams can press F12, select Network, and reload Govenda. Look for failed or blocked requests or requests redirected to a filter page. Add the affected site to the allow list.
- Check firewall or proxy logs. IT teams can look for blocked traffic to
govenda.comand any integration sites above at the time the problem occurred.
What can I do while my IT team updates the firewall?
- Use Govenda on another network, such as home Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot.
- On a mobile device, use the Govenda app over cellular data.
Additional Information

- The time the problem occurred
- Your device
- Your browser or mobile app
- A screenshot of the error
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my IT team allow one domain instead of individual Govenda sites?
Yes. The recommended option is to allow *.govenda.com, which covers the required Govenda sites and other Govenda sites used by some features.
Why does Govenda work on cellular data but not office Wi-Fi?
Your office firewall, web filter, proxy, or SSL/TLS inspection may be interfering with the connection. Ask your IT team to review the requirements above.
Is SSL/TLS inspection exclusion required?
It is required for the Govenda iOS and Android apps because the apps verify Govenda's security certificate. Exclude *.govenda.com, or at minimum api.govenda.com.
Do we need to allow every optional site listed here?
No. Microsoft, Google, Office editing, help-content, and video-meeting requirements only apply to the features your organization uses. The help content sites are recommended but not required.
Does Govenda require ports other than 443?
Govenda traffic uses HTTPS on port 443.
