If you're not receiving push notifications on your mobile device from Govenda, work through this step-by-step troubleshooting guide.
Step 1 — Check device notification permissions
iPhone / iPad: Open your device Settings, scroll down and tap Notifications, find and tap Govenda, and make sure "Allow Notifications" is turned on.
Android: Open your device Settings, go to Apps (or Applications) then Govenda, tap Notifications, and make sure notifications are enabled.
Important for Android 13 and later: You must explicitly grant notification permission when the app first requests it. If you denied this permission initially, you'll need to enable it manually in Settings.
Step 2 — Check the in-app notification setting
Open the Govenda app, go to Settings, and find the push notifications toggle — make sure it's turned on.
Note: You must be connected to the internet to change this setting.
Step 3 — Make sure you're signed in
Push notifications are tied to your active sign-in session. If you've been signed out — either manually or due to session timeout — you'll stop receiving notifications until you sign back in.
Step 4 — Re-register your device
Sometimes the device's notification token becomes stale. Sign out of the Govenda app, then sign back in. If prompted for notification permissions, tap Allow. This re-registers your device with Govenda's notification service.
Step 5 — Reinstall the app (last resort)
If none of the above steps work, uninstall the Govenda app and reinstall it from the App Store or Google Play. Sign in and grant notification permissions when prompted. This fully resets your device's notification registration.
"An error occurred changing your push notification settings"
This usually indicates a temporary server issue. Wait a few minutes and try again. If the error persists, contact Govenda Support at support@govenda.com.
"To change this setting, please login online"
You need to be connected to the internet to change notification settings. Connect to WiFi or cellular data and try again.
