If your board book isn't generating correctly, shows an error, or seems incomplete, find the issue below.
How board book generation works
When you generate a board book, Govenda compiles all attached documents from the meeting's agenda into a single PDF. This runs in the background — you'll see a message: "Generating your Board Book: Close this and we will notify you when it is ready."
"New version available"
If you see this message, it means the agenda has been modified since the board book was last generated. Any change to agenda items or their attached documents will invalidate the current board book. This is expected behavior. You'll need to regenerate the board book to include the latest changes.
Tip: To avoid repeated regeneration, finalize all agenda changes before generating the board book.
Board book generation failed
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be fully included in the board book. They'll appear as placeholder pages. Remove the password protection from the source file and re-upload it before regenerating.
- Corrupt or unsupported files will be skipped — the board book will be generated with the remaining files but may be incomplete. Check with your administrator whether any source files have issues.
- If the entire generation fails, try regenerating. If it keeps failing, contact Govenda Support at support@govenda.com.
Board book seems incomplete or pages are missing
Individual files that fail during compilation are skipped rather than causing the entire board book to fail. Check if any source documents are password-protected (these appear as placeholder pages) and verify all attached files are in supported formats and are not corrupt.
