Connect your Microsoft 365 account to Govenda to sync meetings, surveys, polls, and approval events to your Outlook calendar, file notification emails into a designated folder, and sync tasks to Microsoft To Do.
How to set up the integration
- In Govenda, go to Settings > Integrations tab.
- Click Sign in with Microsoft.
- You'll be redirected to a Microsoft sign-in page. Sign in with the Microsoft account you want to connect.
- Review and grant the requested permissions (calendar, mail, tasks, and profile access).
- After signing in, configure your preferred calendar.
- Click Save.
Calendar Configuration Options
By default, "Default Govenda Calendar" will be selected. This creates a separate Govenda calendar or folder where Govenda events and notifications will go.
To have Govenda events on your main calendar, or a specific calendar, select Distinct Calendar. Then choose an existing calendar. Generally "Calendar" will be your main default calendar.
"Your Tenant Admin will need to approve permissions for this app"
What this means: Your Microsoft 365 organization requires an administrator to approve Govenda's permissions before any user in your organization can connect.
How to resolve:
- In the modal that appears in Govenda, click "Copy Consent Link" to copy the admin consent URL.
- Send this link to your IT administrator or Microsoft 365 global administrator.
- The administrator needs to open the link in their browser, sign in with their Microsoft 365 admin account, review the permissions Govenda is requesting, and click Accept to grant consent for the organization.
- After the administrator approves, go back to Settings > Integrations in Govenda and click Microsoft again to complete your setup.
If you are your organization's Microsoft 365 administrator, you can open the consent link yourself and approve the permissions.
Permissions that Govenda requests:
- Calendar — Read and write access to sync meetings, surveys, polls, and approvals
- Mail — Read and write access to file Govenda notification emails into a designated folder
- Tasks — Read and write access to sync Govenda tasks to Microsoft To Do
- User profile — Read your basic profile information
"Error occurred redirecting to Microsoft"
- Check your internet connection.
- Clear your browser cache and try again.
- Make sure pop-ups are allowed for Govenda in your browser settings — the Microsoft sign-in opens in a redirect or pop-up.
- Try a different browser (Chrome or Edge recommended).
"Your integration with [email] has been disconnected due to a change in your account"
What this means: Govenda can no longer access your Microsoft account because the authorization token became invalid.
Common causes:
- You changed your Microsoft password
- You enabled or changed two-factor authentication on your Microsoft account
- Your IT department revoked Govenda's app permissions
- Your Microsoft 365 admin consent expired or was revoked
- Your Microsoft session expired after a long period
How to reconnect:
- Go to Settings > Integrations in Govenda.
- Click Microsoft.
- Sign in with your Microsoft account again and grant permissions.
- Your integration will be restored.
Govenda warns: "Having 2FA or changing your password may cause these integration settings to disconnect and reset. You will be notified by email if this happens."
"Integration Conflict — Microsoft accounts can only be linked to one account at a time"
What this means: Another Govenda user already has the same Microsoft account connected.
How to resolve:
- You will be asked to either Undo integration or Continue with this account.
Undo Integration: Choose this option if you do not want to connect the Microsoft account to the Govenda user you are currently signed in as.
The Microsoft integration will be removed from your current Govenda user account. The Govenda user account that was already connected to this Microsoft account will stay connected.
Continue with this account: Choose this option if you want to connect the Microsoft account to the Govenda user you are currently signed in as.
The Microsoft integration will move to your current Govenda user account. The Govenda user account that was previously connected to this Microsoft account will no longer be connected.
"An error has occurred getting your Microsoft integration settings"
Refresh the page. If it persists, sign out of Govenda and back in.
"An error has occurred updating this integration"
Verify your calendar and folder selections are valid, then try again. If the error continues, disconnect and reconnect your integration.
"An error has occurred deleting these settings"
Refresh the page and try disconnecting again. If it persists, contact Govenda Support at support@govenda.com.
Calendar events missing after disconnecting and reconnecting
If you disconnected your Microsoft integration and later reconnected, but meetings, surveys, polls, or approval events are not appearing in your Outlook calendar, this is a known issue.
Old internal records from your previous connection can prevent new events from syncing properly.
What to do: Contact Govenda Support at and request a calendar resync. Include the following information:
- Your email address
- Your company name
- When you disconnected and reconnected
- What types of events are missing (meetings, surveys, polls, approvals, or all)
Still need help?
Contact your administrator. If they're unable to resolve it, reach out to Govenda Support at support@govenda.com.
