Follow these steps to reset your Govenda password, including what to do if the reset email doesn't arrive or the link has expired.
Steps to reset your password
- Go to the Govenda sign-in page.
- Click "Forgot?" below the password field.
- Enter the email address associated with your Govenda account.
- Click Submit.
- Check your email inbox for a message from Govenda containing a password reset link.
- Click the link in the email.
- Create a new password that meets the requirements below.
- Sign in with your new password.
Password requirements
Your new password must include all of the following:
- Minimum length: At least 10 characters
- Uppercase letter: At least one (A–Z)
- Lowercase letter: At least one (a–z)
- Number: At least one (0–9)
- Special character: At least one of: ! @ # $ % ^ * - _ + =
"Password validation failed"
Your new password doesn't meet one or more of the requirements above. Review each rule carefully and try again.
I didn't receive the reset email
- Check your spam or junk folder — reset emails sometimes end up there.
- Make sure you entered the exact email address that's registered with your Govenda account. It may be different from your personal email.
- Wait a few minutes — email delivery can occasionally be delayed.
- Ask your administrator to confirm which email address is registered for your account.
Security note: The system always displays a confirmation message after you submit a reset request, even if the email address isn't in the system. This is intentional to prevent others from checking whether a specific email is registered.
My reset link doesn't work or says it's expired
- Reset links are valid for 24 hours. If more than 24 hours have passed, request a new link by repeating the steps above.
- If you requested multiple resets, only the most recent link works. Older links are automatically invalidated.
- Click the link directly from the email rather than copying and pasting it — partial URLs can cause errors.
I reset my password but still can't sign in
- If your company uses Single Sign-On (SSO), resetting your Govenda password won't help — SSO accounts must sign in through the SSO button. See [Single Sign-On (SSO) Is Not Working].
- Make sure you're entering your new password and that your browser or device is not auto filling an old password.
Good to know
- Resetting your password also unlocks a locked account. If your account was locked due to too many failed attempts, completing the reset will unlock it immediately.
- The reset link is valid for 24 hours from when it was sent.
- Each new reset request invalidates all previous links — always use the most recent one.
