Your account has been temporarily locked due to too many incorrect login attempts. Here's how lockout works and how to regain access quickly.
How account lockout works
- Number of attempts before lockout: 10 incorrect attempts.
- Warning message: When you have 3 or fewer attempts left, you'll see "You are approaching the login attempt limit."
- Progressive lockout: Each additional failed attempt while locked adds 1 extra minute to your lockout duration. The more you try, the longer you wait.
Critical: Stop trying to sign in once you see "Account Locked." Every additional attempt makes the lockout longer.
How to regain access
Option 1 — Reset your password (fastest and recommended)
Resetting your password immediately unlocks your account, regardless of how long the lockout timer has left.
- Go to the Govenda sign-in page.
- Click "Forgot?" under the password field.
- Enter your email address and click Submit.
- Check your email for the reset link (check spam/junk if needed — the link is valid for 24 hours).
- Click the link and create a new password that meets the requirements below.
- Sign in with your new password — your account is now unlocked.
Option 2 — Wait it out
Stop all login attempts completely. Remember that the wait time increases with each failed attempt, so patience is key.
Option 3 — Ask your administrator for help
Your administrator can contact Govenda Support at support@govenda.com to have your account unlocked immediately. This is the best option if you need access urgently (such as before a board meeting) and can't reset your password.
Password requirements
When resetting your password, your new password must include all of the following:
- Minimum length: At least 10 characters
- Uppercase letter: At least one (A–Z)
- Lowercase letter: At least one (a–z)
- Number: At least one (0–9)
- Special character: At least one of: ! @ # $ % ^ * - _ + =
"Password validation failed"
If you see this error when setting your new password, it doesn't meet one or more of the requirements above. Review each rule and try again.
