The Forward Agenda Plan gives you a roadmap of topics planned across your upcoming meetings, so you can see at a glance what will be discussed when. This article explains the requirements and how to access it.
Requirements (please read first)
The Forward Agenda Plan is part of the Advanced Topics feature and only appears when all of the following are true:
- Your organization's subscription includes Advanced Topics. If your plan doesn't include this feature, the Forward Plan option will not appear. Contact your administrator or Govenda Support to confirm whether Advanced Topics is enabled.
- You have administrator access with Topics and Advanced Topics permissions. Standard users won't see this option.
- At least one of your upcoming meetings has a Topic assigned. The Forward Plan option stays disabled until you select meetings that have topics on them.
If you don't see the Forward Plan option, it's almost always because one of the three conditions above isn't met — most commonly, the selected meetings don't have any topics assigned yet, or Advanced Topics isn't enabled for your organization.
How to access the Forward Plan
The Forward Plan is a bulk action on the Upcoming Meetings list — not a standalone menu item.
- Go to Meetings in the navigation menu.
- Open the Upcoming meetings tab.
- Select one or more meetings using the checkboxes. Make sure at least one selected meeting has a Topic assigned to it.
- In the actions menu, click Forward Plan.
- The Forward Plan opens in a new tab, showing the selected meetings and their planned topics in a grid view.
Adding topics so meetings appear in the plan
The Forward Plan is built around Topics. For a meeting to show meaningful content in the plan, its agenda items need topics assigned.
- Open a meeting and go to the Agenda tab (or use the Add or Remove Topics bulk action on the Upcoming Meetings list).
- Assign one or more Topics to the agenda items or meeting.
- Repeat for the meetings you want to include in the plan.
Viewing the Forward Agenda Report
There is also a Forward Agenda Report — a full report view of forward-planned topics across all upcoming meetings (rather than a hand-picked selection). Look for it under Reports or the Upcoming Meetings area. The same Advanced Topics requirement applies.
Exporting
You can export the Forward Plan to Excel for sharing with board members or offline planning. Click the Export XLS button at the top of the Forward Plan view.
Planning ahead
Use the Forward Plan to:
- Ensure important topics are scheduled for the right meetings
- Distribute topics evenly across upcoming meetings
- Identify gaps or meetings that need more preparation
