Learn how to use Govenda's AI assistant to find information, answer questions about your board materials, and navigate the platform.

Starting a conversation
- Look for the Gabii or chat button — typically in the bottom-right corner of the screen or in the navigation menu.
- Click it to open the chat panel.
- Type your question or request.
What Gabii can help with
- Finding documents — ask Gabii to locate specific files or meeting materials
- Answering questions — ask about content within your documents, meetings, or agenda items
- Navigating Govenda — ask how to do something and Gabii can guide you
- Meeting management — ask Gabii to help schedule meetings, check RSVP status, or find upcoming meetings for a group
Tips for better answers
- Be specific — "What were the Q3 budget figures discussed in the October board meeting?" works better than "Tell me about the budget."
- Reference specific documents — if you know the document name, mention it.
- Ask one question at a time — Gabii handles focused questions better than broad ones.
Providing feedback
After receiving an answer, you may see options to provide thumbs up or thumbs down feedback. This helps improve Gabii's responses over time.
When Gabii can't answer
"An answer cannot be provided for your question" — the relevant documents may not be indexed yet, or the information may not exist in your uploaded documents. Try rephrasing your question or waiting a few minutes if documents were recently uploaded.
Gabii chatbot vs. Ask Gabii
- Gabii chatbot — the conversational assistant available from anywhere in the platform
- Ask Gabii — the document-specific Q&A feature available when viewing a document in the PDF viewer
Both use AI to help you find information, but Ask Gabii is focused specifically on the document you're currently viewing.
