Discussions are attached to a piece of content on the platform, either a meeting or an agenda item. The exact comments in the discussion thread can only be viewed by going to that piece of content. There are two types of Discussions:
1. Public Discussions - These are discussions where all members who have access to that piece of content can see the discussion. In other words, if an agenda line item is shared with Committee A, there could be a Public Discussion where all members of Committee A can see all comments and can add comments.
2. Private Discussions - Communication that is related to the attached content between 2 or more members. The member that starts the private discussion controls who is in the discussion as well as the ability to purge any messages or attachments within the discussion. Only members who have access to that piece of content can be added to a private discussion.
Discussions, both private and public, will only be visible if the associated item is published. The person who starts the private discussion can delete the thread and a participant in a private discussion is able to delete their own messages.
